“compassion leads to good ideas“
I was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States at age nine. I graduated in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in industrial design at CSU Long Beach with a study abroad at Strate School of Design in Paris.
I am a designer, maker, art teacher, illustrator, and volunteer in a global charity organization. With my work, I try to inspire love and eco-friendly living.
During the 6 months that I studied abroad in Paris, I discovered and fell deeply connected with creating solid objects from recycled paper. I met an Italian friend in school and we soon bonded over our common value in eco-friendly design. For a class project, she made a vase and I made a small kid's stool that looked like a cheese wheel in the eyes of my French classmate. Since then, I fell in love with the velvety texture of the material, its durability, and the warmth of it in my hands. I can’t stop envisioning home furniture and home decor being made of recycled paper material. Most importantly I enjoyed so much of the making process (besides politely hoarding newspaper at various Paris metro stations) I wish more people were to feel what I felt, and realize the potential of recycled paper products.
